GREEN & GOOD SMOOTHIE

Yes, healthy green smoothies really can taste great!  This spinach, grape and cucumber blend is one of my favourites.

The base recipe makes a light, hydrating drink.  When serving for breakfast, I add fibre, healthy fats, and protein. These are essential for optimal functioning of the body and brain and help us to feel full and satisfied.

For 2 servings, blend until smooth:

  • 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk (I like to use my Almond Cow to make homemade plant-based milk)

  • 2 handfuls fresh baby spinach

  • 1 cup frozen green grapes

  • 1 cup diced cucumber (fresh or frozen)

  • 1/4 to 1 tsp chlorella powder (optional)

  • squeeze of lime (optional)

  • Lakanto sugar-free monk fruit sweetener, pure stevia, or raw honey (nonvegan), adjusted to taste

For a 'real meal deal', add one or more of the following:

  • 2 Tbsp Nuzest Clean Lean Smooth Vanilla or Just Natural protein powder or Further Food Collagen Peptides

  • 1/4 ripe or frozen avocado

  • 2 Tbsp chia seeds
