KRAZY FOR KIWI SMOOTHIE

KIWI KEFIR MATCHA SMOOTHIE.jpg

Kiwis are loaded with vitamins, fibre, and antioxidants. One fruit contains less than 50 calories but over 30% of the daily recommended intake (DRI) of vitamin K and 85% of the DRI of vitamin C. Raw kiwi contains an enzyme called actinidain, which aids in the digestion of protein.

Here I have blended ripe kiwi with kefir for its probiotic benefits, along with frozen banana and grapes for a nutritious-and-delicious sweet and tangy treat!

For 2 servings, blend together until smooth:

  • 1 cup canned organic coconut milk (or substitute coconut water for a lighter shake)

  • 1/2 cup coconut or other milk-based kefir

  • 3 to 4 fresh kiwi, peeled and diced

  • 1/2 cup frozen green grapes and 1/2 frozen banana (or use 1 full frozen banana or part steamed-then-frozen cauliflower)

  • 2 Tbsp vanilla protein powder

  • 1 Tbsp white chia seeds

  • 1/2 to 1 tsp matcha powder (optional)

  • sugar-free monk fruit sweetener, pure stevia, or raw honey (nonvegan), adjusted to taste (optional)

  • optional toppings: bee pollen, matcha-flavoured coconut chips, or toppings of choice
