EASY ELDERBERRY BREKKIE BOWL
/Fight against Flu season with my Easy Elderberry Brekkie Bowl!
There’s nothing better than a nutritious-and-delicious brekkie that can be thrown together in flash!
Not only does this elderberry bowl look pretty, but it tastes great and is packed with antioxidants, healthy fats, protein, and probiotics, too! It’s also suitable for vegan, gluten-free, paleo, and keto diets.
For today’s recipe, I used Flora Elderberry Crystals (sponsored). These crystals are extremely versatile and easy to use. I love adding them to overnight oats, smoothies, chia pudding, popsicles, bliss balls, and yogurt bowls like this one.
Elderberry has been used in traditional medicine for millennia for a variety of ailments, from burns to infections. Elderberries are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants including flavonols, anthocyanins & phenolic acid. While more research is needed, studies suggest that elderberry extract may help support the immune system and reduce the length and severity of cold and flu symptoms.
For one serving, mix together:
1/2 cup homemade probiotic coconut yogurt (or sub Greek yogurt)
1 scoop Flora Elderberry Crystals
1 Tbsp vegan vanilla protein powder or collagen peptides
1 tsp Flora Mānuka Honey (or sweetener of choice), to taste
Add toppings of choice and enjoy! Here I topped my bowl with blueberries, diced roasted almonds & sunflower seeds, grain-free granola, sugar-free dark chocolate chips, and bee pollen.
