I love blueberries.  I love matcha. And the two together?  Well — you know I’m gonna say it — it’s a MATCHA MADE IN HEAVEN!!

Blueberries are absolutely bursting with flavour & nutrition.  In addition to being packed with vitamins, minerals & fibre, they get their deep blue hue from powerful antioxidants known as anthocyanins.  In fact, blueberries contain among the highest antioxidant capacities of all the commonly consumed fruits and vegetables. These natural disease-fighting agents are believed to help in the prevention of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and even cognitive decline.

Matcha green tea powder is another antioxidant powerhouse.  One of its antioxidants, EGCg, is widely recognized for its anti-cancer properties.  Matcha is also used to induce a sense of calm while simultaneously boosting energy, concentration, and possibly even memory.

For 2 servings, blend together until smooth:

  • 1 cup or more unsweetened almond or nut-free milk, adjusted to desired consistency

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries

  • 1/2 to 1 cup steamed-then-frozen cauliflower or zucchini

  • 1/2 large ripe or frozen avocado

  • 2 Tbsp Nuzest Clean Lean Vanilla Matcha protein powder (see note below*)

  • Lakanto sugar-free monk fruit sweetener, pure stevia, raw honey (non-vegan), or sweetener of choice, adjusted to taste (optional)

  • optional toppings: fresh berries, Rawcology Matcha Latte coconut chips, Lakanto sugar-free grain-free granola, nut or seed butter, bee pollen, or toppings of choice

*Note: You can also use 2 Tbsp Nuzest Smooth Vanilla or Just Natural protein powder plus 1/2 tsp or more high-grade matcha powder, adjusted to taste.
